Terms and Conditions of use for the Self-Service Laptop Loan Devices:
Any data stored on the laptop is subject to removal/deletion each time the device is powered off or restarted, all work must be saved and backed up to an external device or online cloud storage.
Loan laptops remain the property of the University of ZenUni and borrowers must comply with the University’s IT Acceptable Use Policy - ZenUni.ac.uk/services/its/policies
The borrower is responsible for the loaned laptop and any loss or damage incurred.
Laptops are loaned for personal use only and must not be given to a third party.
Borrowers should contact the Library IT Helpdesk immediately should they notice any damage to a laptop.
Laptops are regularly checked and where a returned laptop is found to be damaged, the borrower will be charged for repair / replacement.
Laptops may be borrowed for 4 hours only and must be returned by the time due.
Laptops should not be removed from their campus building of origin.
If a laptop cannot be returned by the return time the borrower should contact IT Services as soon as possible.
A fine of £5 for each 30 minute period in excess of time due will be levied for late return (to a maximum of £50). Overdue laptops will be deemed as Lost 5 business days after the due date and a Lost Item Bill will be issued to cover the cost of a replacement.
Where appropriate, an appeal against a fine may be made by discussing the circumstances with the Library and IT Helpdesk Staff.
